Knowing is Half the Battle!

When you make the short list of candidates for a job, your prospective employer will undoubtedly do their research into you. Take this opportunity to do the same! By doing a quick Google search or LinkedIn investigation, you may find out a great many things about the company, leadership, and your potential supervisor.

By doing our research, the Employment Therapist team has found many things:

  • A common interest or other connection that started the interview with a memorable conversation

  • Mutual contacts that could give us inside information on the company or interviewer

  • Employee reviews of the employer that made us think twice about pursuing the opportunity

  • The startup CEO had more failed ventures with a history of questionable funding than successes

  • The company had missed payroll in the past

  • The organization is hiring for many roles, including other, better positions for us

  • And many more!
